I have the honour of hosting a really lovely writer on my blog today. Her name is Charlotte Howard and below is a quick question & answer session we shared recently. Read on and learn more about Charlotte and her writing. Links to connect with her and to buy her books are at the end of the interview.
Mary Bradford: Can
you tell us a little about yourself?
Charlotte Howard: Hi!
I’m Charlotte, I live in Somerset with my husband, two children, and growing
menagerie of animals, and I spend my days writing and drinking tea. I currently
have 5 published books (4 novels and a novella), with 1 more coming out soon.
MB: What
genres do you like to write in?
CH: Erotic
and Contemporary Romance. Although I’d like to write something within the
genres of paranormal / fantasy.
MB: What is the title
of your latest book, (tell us a bit about it)?
CH: The Final Straight
is a hot contemporary romance that tells the story of April and Max,
best-friends who are madly in love, but won’t admit it. Until AJ, April’s ex
comes back onto the scene that is. It’s a classic love triangle, with steamy
sex scenes, all set in the equestrian industry.
MB: What are you
currently working on?
CH: I have a new book
– Taking Care of Leah – coming out in June, and Four Letter Words (part two of the
Words Duet) is also being released in the same month, so I’ve been taking a bit
of a break from writing. However, I always have at least one work-in-progress,
and the one I’m working on at the moment is a typical billionaire erotic
romance.
MB: When and where do
you like to write? Have you a favourite place?
CH: I tend to write on
my laptop in the front room with the TV on. I can’t work in complete silence; I
need background noise. I also have to have a cup of tea next to me.
CH: Not yet! I still
don’t think of myself as a writer, even though I’ve been self-employed as one
since 2008 when I started freelancing. Every now and then I have a brief
moment, like when I was on BBC Radio Somerset after Seven Dirty Words was first
released, or when I was featured in Writing Magazine and the local paper.
However, I don’t think I’ll truly feel like I’ve made it until I’ve been on the
Sunday Times best sellers list. (Soon hopefully!)
MB: What is next for
you?
CH: At the moment,
actually starting my latest WIP. I’d like to create a pen name and write a
fantasy series – I have something in mind, but just can’t get it written.
MB: Many thanks Charlotte for joining me and sharing with us all about your books.
