Yet another writer to meet, Abbey and her New Release!

I really am excited to have Abbey MacMunn joining me today on my blog. She is a wonderful new author for me and I guarantee you, her novel, Touched, is full of promise and all you wish for in a new release. So I asked her my usual questions and you can read what she has to tell us here in this post. I  absolutely love her cover, don't you? As always the links to buy her book or to get in touch with Abbey and let her know how much you enjoyed her writing are all listed below.
Mary Bradford: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Abbey MacMunn: Hello, my name is Abbey MacMunn and I live in Hampshire, UK. I’m a wife, mum of four, author, hairdresser, tea drinker, chocolate lover, and sci-fi geek - not necessarily in that order.
MB:What genres do you like to write in?
AM: Mainly paranormal/fantasy romance, but I’ve recently started a contemporary erotic romance.
MB: What is the title of your latest book, (tell us a bit about it)?
AM: It’s called Touched and it’s about a seemingly fated romance between a self-conscious hybrid with a cursed touch and a jaded immortal guardian.
MBWhat are you currently working on?
AM: I’m working on the follow on to Touched, book two in the Immortal Ties series, a sci fi romance that I really must finish, and the erotic romance I mentioned earlier.
MB: When and where do you like to write? Have you a favourite place?
AM: I have to squeeze my writing time in between looking after my family and my part-time job. I try to keep Wednesday and Thursday free-ish for writing (although that doesn’t always happen!) and I get up ridiculously early at the weekend to fit in a few hours before everyone else gets up. My favourite place to write is in my lounge with a large mug of tea beside me.
MB: Has there been a defining moment in your career that made you think, ‘Yes, I am a writer’?
AM: I still have to pinch myself that I am actually a writer, but I guess the defining moment was when I received the email that every aspiring writer dreams of – the one that says, ‘We’d like to offer you a contract,’
MB: What is next for you?
AM:I would like to carry on writing and hopefully have more books published.

Now that you know a little about Abbey, why not read the blurb to her novel and whet your appetite, you will not be disappointed.

Book Blurb for Touched

When inquisitive antique dealer Cami Wilson learns she’s the revered offspring of an immortal mother and a mortal father, it’s not just her hybrid status that has her all flustered. The title comes with her very own super-sexy guardian.
Jaded immortal Joseph Carlisle has only one thing on his mind; his sworn duty to protect the hybrid from those who wish her harm. Anything else would be complicated. That is until they meet.
Chemistry sizzles between them but there’s a problem—the hybrid’s curse. Cami’s touch, skin to skin, proves near fatal to her and all immortals, Joseph included.
But the fated lovers discover her curse is the least of their concerns when a friend’s deadly betrayal threatens to tear them apart forever.

DAITHI KAVANAGH, WRITER

Meet Daithi Kavanagh, a fellow writer of great talent. He is joining me today on my blog to answer some questions and to tell us all about his fantastic, Tadhg Sullivan series. Read on and follow the links below to get your copy or two. Happy Reading!

Mary Bradford: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Daithi Kavanagh: I was born in May 1958 and live with my wife and two children in Ireland. Up to 2012 when the recession hit Ireland, I was making a living as a musician. I then went back to adult education and completed my Leaving Certificate in 2014. I'm now studying for a degree in Irish Culture and Heritage Studies at Wexford Campus.  I play guitar and sing in many of the pubs in my hometown of Wexford where I'm often joined by my two children, Ella and Rory, who play fiddle and flute. In my spare time I like to walk my two dogs and I also enjoy gardening. I’m getting old!
MB: What genres do you like to write in?
DK: I like to write crime thrillers with a political 'twist' and with a possible historical background to the story.
MB: What is the title of your latest book? (Tell us a little about it)
DK: I'm writing a series called The Tadhg Sulivan Series. My latest book is called The Brotherhood. It is set in Ireland and centred around Detective Tadhg Sullivan. In this story he is in pursuit of an evil cult known as The Brotherhood which is involved in the kidnap and murder of young women. It is full of suspense and intrigue!
MB: What are you currently working on?
DK: I am currently working on my third book in the series called The Crucifixion which is nearly complete. My wife Caroline is helping with the editing – so we’re nearly there!
MB: When & where do you like to write? Have you a favourite place?
DK: I do most of my writing in the 'spare room' and am now doing my own typing! Caroline did the typing on my other two books so this is all new to me. If the weather is fine (laughter here) I would write in the garden in a little 'nook' I have made but at the moment it’s the spare room as the weather is so bad.
MB: Has there been a defining moment in your career that made you think, ‘Yes, I’m a writer’?
DK: When my first book The Gun was accepted by Tirgearr and published I felt like a writer. It was an absolutely defining moment in my life and I am absolutely thrilled to be part of the Tirgearr team.
MB: What is next for you?
DK: As I’ve already said I am nearly finished my third book in the series, The Crucifixion so that’s what’s on my immediate agenda. I will hopefully keep writing more stories in The Tadhg Sullivan Series and I have a few ideas for some new books (apart from The Tadhg Sullivan Series) so will think more about them after book 3 comes out.

 BLURB for THE BROTHERHOOD

Detective Tadhg Sullivan’s life seems to be falling apart, since being shifted to Clare from Dublin after falling out with the Minister for Justice and the Garda Commissioner. His partner, Journalist Helen Carty, has moved out, unable to live with his bouts of depression and periodic alcoholism. He finds himself once again alone in a world that doesn’t understand him.
Suddenly Sullivan is knocked out of his lethargy when a teenage girl goes missing not far from Ennis where he has been stationed. Sullivan is asked to lead the hunt by the local Superintendent and is catapulted into a world of unimaginable horror. He is
confronted by Lord Charles Cromwell the leader of a sadistic cult—The Brotherhood—that derives its pleasures from the torture and murder of young women.
Sullivan’s investigation is once again hampered by political interference. As he fights his way through one bureaucratic obstacle after another he discovers that The Brotherhoods tentacles have not only reached into corridors of power in Ireland but, they are being protected by powerful politicians worldwide.
To cut through this protective ring of steel Sullivan finds himself having to engage with some strange bed fellows. Which included an ex CIA agent, Simon Horowitz, who had saved his partners life during his last investigation and an IRA leader, Rory O’Connor, who has recently been released from prison.
Will this strange combination be able to destroy The Brotherhood before their murderous reign takes another young life or will Lord Cromwell destroy Sullivan and everything he loves?

The Brotherhood

BLURB for THE GUN

Garda Detective Tadhg Sullivan leads a special unit that investigates politically
motivated crime. A man known only as The Deerstalker is a cancer who has infected the Irish political system.
Sullivan teams up with journalist Helen Carty, and together they try tracking down the mysterious killer. Carty adds to Sullivan’s problems, when he finds himself falling
in love with her. And further complicating things, he starts losing trust in his partner, Detective Pat Carter, who appears to be on the side of the Garda Commissioner, who Sullivan is rapidly falling out with.
Sullivan’s case is further thrown into confusion when a copycat killer, Tommy Walsh, is shot dead by the CIA. When the CIA discovers that they've killed the wrong person, the two agents involved--Simon, who has become disillusioned by his time
stationed in the Middle East, and Joey, a psychopath who confuses zealotry with patriotism--are also in pursuit of The Deerstalker. Sullivan finds himself in a race against time, if he is to arrest The Deerstalker before the CIA take him out, and use his death as a pawn in a political game of chess.
Who will win out in the end?

ANOTHER NEW TITLE TO ENJOY

It is with great delight that I bring to you dear readers my second novella set in 1800's America. This time it is a romance, with a western feel. I enjoyed writing this book considering all I had to work with was its title DESTINY.

While I mulled this word over in my head,  eventually a man with dark good looks, sitting by a campfire, paid me a visit. It was Charlie. He introduced himself first to me and then not to be outdone, Ahyoka made her presence known. She kept to the background a little, shy but confident. How their paths crossed avoided me until I saw them both in a forest, a cabin snuggled into the trees behind them.
I enjoy researching this time period in American history, as Ahyoka's name is from the Cheroke people, I read up on their history in particular. I already knew about cowboys from researching my first foray in to the western lifestyle in The Runaway.

Now their story is available to read and enjoy. It is on all book sites, the eBook format is now available and the print version is available from July 12th 2016.
